A complete renewal unterwent Farmacia SS. Annunziata The traditional brand recently launched twelve fragrances in a new and fresh look. Here in the Duft-Tagebuch the earlier fragrances were already represented several times and also about the history of the fragrance house you can find all kinds of information here (only in German), which is why I like to link you the reviews here.
In a nutshell: Farmacia SS. Annunziata
Due to the mass of new fragrances, I would like to devote only briefly to the history of the company. Farmacia SS. Annunziata is from Florence. In 1561, Domenico Brunetti – neither related nor related by marriage to the TV commissario of the same name – founded a pharmacy in Via dei Servi, which is still the historic headquarters of the brand. The current name Farmacia SS. Annunziata, by the way, the pharmacy received just in the mid-1930s, before that it was called Farmacia all’insegna della SS. Annunziata. In the early 1970s, the couple Laura and Carlo Azzerlini became owners of the pharmacy, the already existing own cosmetics line of Farmacia SS. Annunziata was further advanced and expanded.
But the Florentine brand didn’t enter the world of fragrance until 2006, when the Azzerlinis launched a first fragrance collection, followed by a room fragrance line in 2017. In 2021, the rebranding then took place in order to reposition the brand internationally and, above all, globally. For the 460th anniversary, a complete new collection of Eaux de Parfum was launched, to which I would like to devote myself today and in the following articles.
Anniversary – the 460-year fragrance
Fittingly, I would like to start right away with the very creation that is the anniversary scent within the new fragrance line. Hence the name Anniversary. I suspect a lush composition, because the fragrance notes clearly point in that direction: cinnamon, orange blossom, tobacco leaves, clove, nutmeg, rose, leather, vanilla, sandalwood, saffron, cedar and wheat. The perfumer of the fragrances, unfortunately, I can not tell you. Possibly I will find this out in the near future, and then I will gladly submit it. 🙂
A fragrant anthem in honor of the 460th anniversary of the brand. Florentine spices and leather recall the craftsmanship for which Florence has always been famous. The love of tradition and Florence in a bottle.
460 years of tradition – Farmacia SS. Annunziata
Golden to amber, the Anniversary fragrance shines at me immediately after spraying on. The lovely and aromatic notes of tobacco leaves – as usual underpinned with that delicious honey sweetness so smooth and beautiful – open the fragrance of Farmacia SS. Annunziata, accompanied by creamy orange blossom, which adds a touch of fruitiness to the golden tobacco honey.
Soft and enchanting, the rose blooms in the eau de parfum, nestled in the soft and lovely scent of orange blossom and tobacco leaves, underpinned by fine spices and soft suede, which give the creation warmth and excitement. Velvety sandalwood, dark saffron and fine vanilla snuggle in and provide woody-balsamic and wonderfully spicy-soft nuance in the finish.
Delightfully autumnal, Anniversary strikes me as a spicy-warm and lovely-leathery scent that breathes the beguiling notes of tobacco leaf, vanilla and sandalwood. Very soft, very cozy creates the fragrance of Farmacia SS. Annunziata a feel-good atmosphere of a special kind. An eau de parfum to snuggle up and relax, as well as to go out in the evening. Personally, I perceive Anniversary too lush for the office, because the presence of the composition is as impressive as the durability. For friends of honey-sweet tobacco scents with spicy-floral and leathery underpinnings, an absolute test candidate that desperately belongs on the to-try list. 🙂
