Sensatio Paris was founded by two brothers: David and Sacha Perrin. You may recognize one of their names. David is the one, who has launched the wonderful niche fragrance label Nectar Olfactif. Its four fragrances revolve around the theme of honey, and of course I have already presented them to you here (you can read about them here). In fact, the new Sensatio Paris brand is also dedicated to culinary delicacies, albeit of a different nature.
While David Perrin has been in the perfume business for several years, Sacha Perrin’s professional home is haute cuisine. The love of beautiful fragrances, flavors and delicacies should be common to both, and so it was obvious for the brothers to create a brand that revolves around just that: Lucullan delicacies from selected perfumers with the highest quality raw materials transformed into fine fragrance compositions, Sensatio Paris is a label for olfactory connoisseurs. Sensatio … the name alone says it all. The Latin word for sensation, feeling, intuition is intended to express the emotion that the extraits de parfum awaken in us. Memories of encounters with loved ones, of special moments, of childhood, of love or simply of a past summer vacation. Fragrances can transport us to so many different places and bring back so many past moments.
Golden Pistachio – Teasing nut
We can recognize the protagonist of our first fragrance from Sensatio Paris by its name: Pistachio is at the center of the composition in Golden Pistachio, accompanied by the ingredients bergamot, apple, pear, almond, rum, peony, gourmand notes, coumarin, tonka bean, musk, vanilla and sandalwood. Perfumer Manon Coen, who works for the internationally renowned company Robertet, was commissioned to create the fragrance. In recent years, a number of creations have been created around pistachio. I am thinking here of Pistachio by D.S. & Durga, Une Pistache by Obvious Parfums or the recently launched Latte Pistachio by New Notes, which has not yet been discussed here. Perhaps you can think of a few more? The green nut in the hard shell is not only a real culinary delicacy, but also so multifaceted and versatile in fragrance form. I am very curious to see how the Golden Pistachio creation will turn out in the test and what niche the extrait de parfum will occupy in the gourmand segment.
The pistachio is an exciting shell fruit that Sacha uses in various forms in the kitchen. Especially in the production of pistachio pralines, which consist of a mixture of pistachios, water and sugar. This rich, creamy pistachio scent that is created in the kitchen prompted Sacha and David to bring the pistachio into the world of fragrances.
Golden Pistachio opens with a fresh and fruity fragrance that is soon accompanied by creamy, gourmand nuances of boozy rum and delicious, roasted almond cream. Peony brings lucid, light and airy floral nuances to the composition, with subtle watery facets. The pistachio is greenish, soft and wonderfully nutty, underlining the creamy accents of the almond. The fine nut is supported in color by the vanilla notes of coumarin and tonka bean, accompanied by crystalline musk powder. The creation ends on a soft, creamy and light note.
Golden Pistachio is a light, airy and wonderfully pleasant gourmand fragrance based on the delicious nuances of pistachio, which I really enjoy. Transparent, not too sweet and in a spring-like green, this extrait de parfum wins me over from the very first sniff. Perfect for anyone who loves gourmand, soft and creamy compositions that don’t cause a sugar shock and are not oppressive or heavy. A very successful addition to the range of pistachio fragrances and an exceptionally beautiful start to the Sensatio Paris collection. I am thrilled! 💚
