September and October 2024 – Autumn whispers

In the fifth episode of our annual review, I would like to focus on the months of September and October. These were not so long ago and had some exciting moments for us in our private lives. The youngest started school and now we have two schoolchildren here, which makes me very happy. As wonderful as the kindergarten years were, after two children and six years it was time to move on and start a new (school) path. The first few weeks were incredibly exciting for the little one and for us too, of course. We were able to relax a little during the fall vacations when we spent a wonderful week in Denmark. But it wasn’t just in our private lives that there was so much on offer during these two months. I also attended two fragrance events in Hamburg, to which I was kindly invited by the Unique Brands distribution club. But more about that later.

PERROY - IVORYSKY

And once again, I’ll link you to my previous contributions to this annual review:

September 2024

September began just as August ended: with fragrances from PERROY. The French label’s extensive and colorful collection already puts you in a good mood visually and the creations are all wonderfully successful. Modern, transparent, unisex, wearable for every occasion and every occasion. I have presented six of the eaux de parfum in my reviews IVORYSKY and BLUEFOREST by PERROY – Confident and elegant and TANGERINEPEARL, GOLDFAWN and MAHOGANYSUN by PERROY.

PERROY - TANGERINEPEARL
pernoire - Otimo
Fugazzi - Vanilla Haze
Creed - Delphinus and Centaurus

Otimo by pernoire heralded the start of the fall fragrance season for me personally. With warm, gourmandy-boozy notes, the extrait de parfum provides cozy and cozy autumn vibes, perfect for the cooler season. We continued nimbly with Vanilla Haze by Fugazzi. This crystalline, powdery vanilla scent with a molecular base is an absolute hit for me. Anyone who loves vanilla in fragrances should definitely put this creation on their to-try list.

The two eaux de parfum Delphinus and Centaurus from Creed also make a clear statement with their warm, ambery notes. Autumn is coming and we want cozy and lush fragrances with a good dose of comfort. Delpinus and Centaurus are definitely among them and are beautifully and elegantly composed in the usual Creed manner.

APOM by Maison Francis Kurkdjian and HaNa by Masakï Matsushïma brought a little bit of summer and spring magic to my autumnal mood. Two creations that I will definitely be keeping in mind for the coming months when the weather finally gets brighter, warmer and friendlier again.

Nicolaï - Pavlova, Macaron Bourbon and Saint Honoré

The new Gourmand Collection from Nicolaï with the fragrances Pavlova, Macaron Bourbon and Saint Honoré brought me back to my cozy autumn mood. Three exceptionally beautiful compositions inspired by delicious desserts that have been an absolute hit with niche fragrance fans since their launch.

Rouge Litchi and Lime Tropical by Comptoir Sud Pacifique once again provided a tangy, fruity summer feeling and went straight onto my to-wear list for the warm season of 2025. Incidentally, Pear Addiction and Neon Splash by Les Sœurs de Noé also found a permanent place here.

I was particularly taken with the pear creation, because I really, really like pears in fragrances. In general, the Les Sœurs de Noé brand is a real insider tip with many wonderful compositions. Definitely one to remember!

Fabbrica della Musa - Via Velluto
EMIL ÉLISE - Unfolding Echo

Then I went to a fragrance event in Hamburg for Unfolding Echo by EMIL ÉLISE. As usual, I wrote about my impressions on this blog under the motto “Fragrance diary on tour”. I was also able to present a new brand to you here in September, namely Fabbrica della Musa. In three posts on this blog, I presented you with the extensive collection from the fragrance house of Barbara Adelmann and her husband, perfumer Hamid Merati-Kashani, all of which exude the Italian dolce vita:

October 2024

October was characterized by many individual reviews, top 5 lists and an interview. Our fragrance journey began in the far north. Iceland was the destination and it quickly became clear that it had to be about Andrea Maack ‘s creations. Osmo, Zing and Jest kicked things off, followed by my top 5 fall fragrances 2024 including a limited sample set and the gourmand trio Nanatopia, Happy Nuts and Mad Honey by BORNTOSTANDOUT.

BORNTOSTANDOUT - Nanatopia
OHTOP - OKTÓ
Joy Isaacs, founder of ARgENTUM

Another top 5 fragrance hit list under the motto Hygge Feeling – 5 fragrances to snuggle up and enjoy was followed by the presentation of the three new eaux de parfum from OHTOP, which are called Air Oud, Októ and Half Moon and are part of the French-Korean label’s Artistic Collection. This was immediately followed by an interview with Joy Isaacs from ARgENTUM, for which there was also a second part (read here).

Within a few weeks, the second new launch from pernoire came onto the market: Poka, a limited-edition popcorn caramel cracker, which naturally also found its way into the fragrance diary (read about it here). Absolute test recommendation on my part! What I also absolutely loved was the Potions & Remedies collection from Penhaligon’s with the fragrances Vra Vra Vroom, A Kiss of Bliss, Liquid Love, A Balm of Calm and Eau de Audacity. You can find my two reviews here and here. Finally, in the article Palatine by Parfums de Marly – Fragrance diary on tour, I described my impressions of the Hamburg fragrance event for the latest creation by the cult label Parfums de Marly, which was once again a wonderful experience.
