In mid-September, I was once again on tour for the fragrance diary in beautiful Hamburg. The EMIL ÉLISE team invited me to attend the launch of their latest fragrance Unfolding Echo, which of course made me incredibly happy. Many thanks again to the great team of the still young Essen-based brand EMIL ÉLISE.
My trip – if you can call it a one-hour drive – took me to the Mega Contemporary art gallery in Hamburg-Neustadt. It was all about Unfolding Echo and the other fragrances in the collection, all of which I have already introduced to you here in the fragrance diary. Here are a few impressions of the location, which the EMIL ÉLISE team has once again decorated beautifully. Minimalist-modern, cosmopolitan and always in tune with the times – these are the keywords that characterize the brand and its compositions. I was welcomed with open arms by Aline, Friederike and Laurids from EMIl ÉLISE and given a tour of the space. In addition to all kinds of delicacies at the buffet, which were of course thematically located in the olfactory-culinary spectrum of Unfolding Echo, there was also a video installation in the basement that appealed not only to the nose, but to almost all of our senses.

But now finally to the fragrance itself, because this article is not just about the event, but also about Unfolding Echo. Of course, I don’t want to withhold from you what the star guest of the evening has to offer olfactorily. As with the other eaux de parfum, it remains unclear who created the fragrance. The EMIL ÉLISE team is keeping quiet about this.
Unfolding Echo – My moment. Forever.
The latest creation from EMIL ÉLISE once again revolves around the theme of fruit and reinterprets it with the ingredients peach, passion fruit (passion fruit), cedarwood, jasmine, sugar, moss and woods. We remember: Melting Lust focused on cherries and Twisted Sin spoiled us with a wonderful blend of liqueur apple and cinnamon that makes my mouth water just thinking about it. A fragrance that is right at the top of my personal must-have list.
Unfolding Echo now takes on the ever-popular combination of peach and passion fruit, which is why I was expecting a tropical-inspired, fruity and velvety composition before the launch, which I thought would be bright and creamy. I wonder if Unfolding Echo presented itself exactly as I had imagined during the launch test?
Unfolding Echo is an airy and, from the outset, extremely soft blend of ripe, juicy peach and the sweet and sour tanginess of passion fruit, which is underpinned by a creamy caramel sweetness and a light floral jasmine cream. Like a mist, molecule-like, synthetic and fluffy feel-good clouds float through the creation, reminding me of cashmeran, ambroxan or a similar note, making the composition incredibly light, cozy and gentle. Despite its transparency, the eau de parfum has an impressive presence and is also extremely long-lasting. Clean cedarwood and the subtly earthy, creamy nuances of oakmoss round off the fragrance beautifully and underline the fruity and creamy floral accents of this composition.
Unfolding Echo is a quiet yet powerful eau de parfum that should appeal to fans of peach and passion fruit, fruity clean scents, creamy, bright and synthetic creations with an exotic touch. Even if the theme makes you think of a spring and summer fragrance, Unfolding Echo is, in my opinion, also absolutely wearable in the cooler season, especially when more minimalist and clean creations are appropriate as fragrance companions. In my opinion, it’s an absolute must-have fragrance that should definitely be at the top of your must-try list. 😍
