Today we continue with Et revenir à Soi and Eu Vent de Vous by Sabé Masson, after I introduced you to the brand itself, the special features of the creations and a first eau de parfum in yesterday’s post Sabé Masson – Soft Perfumes without Alcohol. A quick reminder: we are dealing here with alcohol-free fragrances that have been created on the basis of water and plant-based ingredients and are therefore intended to be particularly kind to the skin.
As is typical for the WPE technology used, the creations have a thin, milky texture that gives the impression of a spray lotion. The fine spray mist can be wonderfully massaged into the skin and leaves it feeling soft and comfortable. The alcohol-free eaux de parfum also impress with their excellent longevity and expressiveness. They consistently evoke a particularly gentle and calm, almost smooth fragrance character, which is certainly due to the absence of alcohol.
Et revenir à Soi – And come back to yourself
Perfumer Jennifer Jambon was responsible for the olfactory realization of this fragrance, which is composed of the ingredients mandarin, bergamot, cypress, pink pepper, ginger, cardamom, ylang-ylang, carrot seed, iris, jasmine, patchouli, vanilla, ambrette, vetiver, mate and benzoin resin. The perfumer can look back on a long career, having worked for IFF and Firmenich, among others, and was in-house perfumer at Molton Brown for almost a decade. Our range includes the Wolf Brothers’ Wolf fragrance, for example, which was created by her.

Lush spices and coniferous woods open Et revenir à Soi, accompanied by delicately tart citrus fruits. The opening is already a statement that I really like. In general, I have to say that I absolutely love the fragrance progression and expression of alcohol-free creations. From start to finish, the compositions are much finer, more balanced, the transitions more fluid and harmonious. Yes, in my opinion, the absence of alcohol does indeed create more harmony, more calm, softness and serenity, without compromising the presence of the creation. Little by little, powdery-creamy nuances enter the fragrance, with clear facets of iris and carrot seed. The beguiling floral notes of ylang-ylang underline the fragrance before Et revenir à Soi gradually fades away with creamy, warm and cozy accents.
This creation by Sabé Masson is perfect for anyone who prefers deep, soft, warm and meditative compositions with spices, woods and creamy powder notes. Absolutely suitable for everyday and office use, with a good presence and excellent longevity. Beautiful and comforting, Et revenir à Soi is ideal for the cooler months of the year. Eu Vent de Vous – Sabé Masson
I’m having a bit of trouble translating this name, as I’m not familiar with the “Eu”. Is it a form of the word “avoir”? Perhaps one of you can help me? I know for sure that the eau de parfum Eu Vent de Vous was created by the perfumer Delphine Lebeau-Krowiakj, who combined the fragrance notes bergamot, cardamom, iris, tolu balsam, opoponax, benzoin resin, vanilla, patchouli, labdanum (cistus) and ambergris.
Cardamom and bergamot unite in the opening of Eu Vent de Vous by Sabé Masson to form a greenish-spicy duet with fresh, aromatic undertones, soon to be joined by creamy and milky-powdery nuances. The sweet and subtly earthy warmth of opoponax blends with the balsamic notes of benzoin resin and tolu balsam, while iris and ambergris reveal wild leathery aspects. The base underlines this fragrance character and brings spicy-creamy and sweet-smoky facets into play.
Eu Vent de Vous is a creation entirely to my taste – although I would also say the same about Et revenir à Soi. Warm, comforting, spicy, characterized by a wonderful creaminess and wonderful leathery iris, which is intensified by opoponax and other balsamic resins. This fragrance also has a very beautiful, meditative aura, calm and serenity. In my eyes, it is perfect for the cooler months of the year. A unisex fragrance that can be worn for every occasion and every occasion. An absolute test recommendation for this eau de parfum too.
