The last two creations by Nishane that I would like to introduce to you today are Zenne and Nanshe. Actually, Suède et Safran was also on my review list for today, but as I just noticed, I don’t have a sample of the fragrance at all. So that will be made up for. I link you the last three posts on the Turkish niche fragrance brand, which recently came back into the assortment at Aus Liebe zum Duft.
- The collection of Nishane – Fragrant delicacies from Turkey
- B-612 and Vain & Naïve by Nishane – Olfactory Little Prince
- Ege and Ani by Nishane – Boundless fragrance experience
Zenne – traditional art
The fragrance Zenne refers to a traditional form of theater that has been practiced in Turkey for several centuries: Orta Oyunu. As theater for the people, the performances do not take place on a stage, but in the midst of the audience. Usually, scenes of everyday life are described, always in a humorous and also exaggerated way. In addition to several male leads, there is also a female protagonist in these plays called Zenne.
Zenne celebrates beauty, energy, confidence and the art of flirting. Inspired by the female character in the traditional shadow play, Zenne teleports you to the riddles of paradise gardens full of joy and romance.
I assume that Zenne is a rather feminine oriented fragrance, once again created by perfumer Jorge Lee. The fragrance notes sound delicious: grapefruit, currant, rhubarb, Turkish rose, gardenia, sandalwood, vanilla, amber and musk.
The art of flirting – Zenne
Although the fragrance notes suggest a rather fresh and fruity start, Zenne plunges into a lush floral bouquet of beguiling roses and gardenia, which are surrounded by warm balsamic sandalwood and cuddly creamy ambergris.
The fruit merges with the flowers, underlining them and intensifying their opulent character. Gradually, the orientation of the fragrance shifts to woods and spices. Sandalwood, musk and vanilla determine the base of the still magnificent extrait de parfum and let it end softly and smoothly.
Friends of fruity-floral fragrance compositions with a spicy-woody finish should definitely take note of Zenne. At the same time, the creation of Nishane is not primarily characterized by the rose. Gardenia enters into an extremely harmonious and equal melange with the queen of flowers. A bouquet of flowers of a particularly beguiling kind. An extrait de parfum that can be worn on any occasion, in any season and at any age. Beautiful! 🙂
Nanshe – Divine fragrance
Nanshe is part of Abundance Collection by Turkish niche fragrance label Nishane. Plentifulness and richness are what this collection is supposed to contain, if the name is to be believed. The name Nanshe comes from a Sumerian goddess of the same name, who was responsible for justice, fertility and providence, among other things.
The biggest challenge was to create a fragrance that reflected the kind, compassionate, welcoming and wise qualities of this divine figure. With Nanshe, Nishane wishes for a world where the forgotten, the poor, the lonely and the disenfranchised are taken care of.
Lush and rich are definitely the fragrance notes: Bergamot, Carrot Seed, Cardamom, Yuzu, Rose, Jasmine, Ylang-Ylang, Iris, Powdery Notes, Musk, Patchouli and Sandalwood. Incidentally, the perfumer of the creation was or is Cécile Zarokian.
Lush powder cloud
Powdery iris meets the delicate tartness of bergamot and yuzu, as well as dark creamy patchouli that underscores the earthy facets of iris root. The rose provides floral soapiness, while the sandalwood brings velvety nuances to the fragrance, which is very adult, sublime and rather cool.
This carries through the creation deep into the base, where musk provides additional powder underpinning. Softer and calmer, Nanshe finally fades out after a long, long time.
Nanshe is certainly not an everyday creation. The strong powdery, dark and soapy notes of the composition make the Extrait de Parfum from the house of Nishane a special fragrance, which I would tend to attribute more to the ladies and which I would now also rather see on somewhat “more mature” wearers, the fragrance is not primarily youthful in my eyes. Very calm, relaxed and somehow also a touch nostalgic is the perfume by Nishane.
