Electimuss is known for its grand gestures – and the London-based label’s latest coup, Moroccan Medjool, is no exception. The fragrance transports you into an oriental, opulent dream of juicy medjool dates, spices and decadent sensuality. Presumably not a fragrance for quiet tones, but one that sparkles on the skin like liquid gold shimmer. With Caspian Cherry, the brand then adds a cherry on top – in the truest sense of the word. Dark, gourmand, a little wicked. I’m guessing two compositions with fruity nuances, but also a dose of drama and plenty of expressiveness. What can we expect? An olfactory dessert course or a statement for the big stage? One thing can be revealed: These two little fruits are in a league of their own.
Moroccan Medjool – London meets the Orient
Moroccan Medjool dates are considered the queens of dates. They are large, juicy, honey-sweet and aromatic like no other. Under the hot Moroccan sun, they develop their deep brown color and their characteristic, syrupy aroma with notes of caramel, fig and a hint of cinnamon. In Moroccan culture, they are more than just a sweet treat, but rather a piece of culinary culture. They stand for hospitality, luxury and prosperity: whether plain, filled with almonds or dipped in chocolate, Medjool dates are a popular delicacy at markets and festivals.
As the olfactory inspiration for Moroccan Medjool by Electimuss, they bring precisely the sensual warmth and depth that you should feel in the fragrance: opulent, sweet, seductive, yet always balanced. A tribute to oriental indulgence and the seductive elegance of this very special fruit, which “the Romans discovered in Mauritania. Dates were one of Morocco’s most valuable exports to the Romans and were an important raw material for establishing long-lasting links between Morocco and the Mediterranean world.”
Perfumer Marco Genovese created the Extrait de Parfum Moroccan Medjool from the ingredients date, grapefruit, lemon, cardamom, bergamot, rose, ylang-ylang, jasmine, carnation, cashmere wood, ambergris, oakmoss, vanilla and caramel.
A subtly citrusy-fresh start is followed by a spicy-creamy and luscious sweetness that I would spontaneously attribute to the eponymous date. Rose, jasmine and ylang-ylang underline these nuances with their milky-smooth, nectar-sweet floral notes. On the one hand, they provide a certain transparency – the rose is particularly noteworthy here with its light and floral accents – but on the other hand, they also form the link between the freshness of hesperides and the spicy sweetness of dates and unite them in a wonderful way. Soft, warm and comforting facets are added in the finish. The cashmere wood lives up to its name, so wonderfully soft, accompanied by subtly earthy-creamy oakmoss and balsamic ambergris. As before, you can still sniff out the fresh speckles of hesperides, which set exciting accents and prevent the composition from becoming too compact and heavy.
Moroccan Medjool is like a smooth cream of flowers, spices, citrus fruits and deliciously sweet dates, making it perfect for anyone who loves modern, elegant and opulent creations with an oriental touch. The extrait de parfum combines Orient and Occident and unites typical oriental ingredients in a transparent, contemporary and very stylish way to create a composition that is certainly present, but never too much. A unisex fragrance that cuts a fine figure for any occasion and in any season and is absolutely seductive. 🤤
Caspian Cherry – Sweet temptation
Caspian Cherry is not inspired by just any cherry, but by the sweet cherry from the Caspian Sea. This is a real delicacy – juicy, deep red and with an intense aroma that alternates between sweet fruitiness and a delicate bitter almond flavor. Cherry cultivation has a long tradition in the region around the Caspian Sea, as the mild, humid climate allows the fruit to ripen to be particularly aromatic and full-bodied. Caspian Cherry by Electimuss picks up on precisely this lush aroma and turns it into a fragrance that is seductive, warm and luxurious. Perfumer Kévin Mathys combined amaretto, cherry, chocolate, cinnamon, vetiver, honey, coconut, coffee, patchouli, sandalwood, white chocolate and tonka bean for the extrait de parfum.
Caspian Cherry reveals boozy, gourmand notes of fine, bitter chocolate and marzipan-like amaretto right from the start, from which I can also sniff out sweet, fruity cherries. Roasted coffee beans add exciting accents, while delicious spices and golden honey provide sweetness and a subtle spiciness. I can clearly perceive the coconut. Its tropical, milky nuances underline the composition, combining with creamy chocolate and creamy patchouli to create a gentle and soft blend.
Caspian Cherry is not a squeaky-sweet cherry scent, but a balanced and very harmonious blend of boozy marzipan, dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans, milky coconut and sweet honey, accompanied by creamy, smooth notes and gentle spices. On top of this, there are wonderfully fruity cherry accents in the creation, which blend wonderfully with the olfactory mixture. Modern, elegant, transparent, yet present and long-lasting, Caspian Cherry by Electimuss is just the thing for anyone who loves fruity, creamy compositions. ❤️
