Another fragrance that I was able to test at the trade fair in February is Amber K by Ella K. In my Exsence article New fragrances, new brands – Esxence 2025, I have already told you a little about the latest addition to the brand with the female name. Today it’s time to get down to business and Amber K is the focus of this review, because luckily I was able to take a sample with me from the trade fair. The eau de parfum has also been available at Aus Liebe zum Duft for a few days now, so I can only say: let’s go!

Ella K – a brief review
Perfumer Sonia Constant’s brand is regularly featured here on the blog. I am happy to link you to my latest reviews below. A great favorite of mine is still the beautiful, minimalist, casual Musc K, which I find simply wonderful. My clean musk dream was followed by Orchid K, not a magical tropical fragrance, but an alpine-inspired vanilla-floral alliance that was quite powerful and expressive. I have also already presented the desert wind triumvirate of Khamsin, Harmattan and Ghibli here, as well as the Asian floral wonder Camélia K.
- Orchid K by Ella K – The scent of the black vanilla orchid
- Musc K by Ella K – pure idyll
- Camélia K by Ella K – Flower greetings from Vietnam
- Khamsin, Harmattan and Ghibli by Ella K – Gone with the Wind
What all of Ella K’s creations have in common is that they are inspired by Sonia Constants’ travels. Orchid K is a tribute to the Italian Alps, Musc K a reminder of white sand dunes in the north of Brazil. The floral world of Vietnam inspired Constant to create Camélia K and the Sahara winds inspired her to create the Leather Collection with the three fragrances Khamsin, Harmattan and Ghibli.
With Amber K to the Caribbean
The new eau de parfum is the first fragrance to be inspired by a trip to the Caribbean. In the Dominican Republic, Sonia Constant discovered a plant with an unusual flower shape that exuded an extremely intense scent. The spiderlily(Hymenocallis caribaea) belongs to the amaryllis family and has striking white flowers that resemble spider legs. In the Dominican Republic, the spiderlily can be found in the wild, preferably in damp soil, but is also often grown as an ornamental plant in parks or gardens.
Sonia Constant wanted to incorporate the unique scent of this flower into her Caribbean creation, as well as the fine notes of Dominican cigars, the sun and the island’s special attitude to life. And so the ingredients of Amber K are pink pepper, floral notes, tobacco, iris, cocoa, cedarwood, patchouli, tonka bean, incense, ambergris and vanilla.
“Amber K was born out of an insane and obsessive dream: the desire to capture this fragrance – an elixir for the skin. I wanted to capture every nuance so that it would live on in me forever. I combined this fragrance with the sweet smoke of tobacco, the intense notes of cocoa and the powerful aromas of tropical spider lily.” – Sonia Constant
Right from the start, Amber K caresses me with an incredibly captivating, beguiling fragrance that is warm, comforting and wonderful. At first, I perceive liqueur-like, boozy notes, pickled dried fruit and golden, honeyed tobacco. Tart, dark cocoa joins in, accompanied by powdery iris and spicy, smoky facets, whereby the creation undergoes a small olfactory transformation. While it started out incredibly creamy, smooth and sweet, the fragrance gradually becomes more profound, less tart and spicier. The gentle notes of the opening remain in the background and underline the composition, adding further layers and depth. Gentle, light woods and powdery, crystalline nuances allow the fragrance to gradually fade away.
For me, Amber K is a feel-good fragrance par excellence that suits my taste perfectly. I love these enveloping, calm and warm notes that are so cozy and fascinating. The eau de parfum is perfect for anyone who loves creations with woody-ambery, spicy-chocolaty and balsamic-intoxicating notes that combine golden tobacco sweetness with creamy-powdery facets and a delicious booziness. I am absolutely thrilled! My sample will go straight into my daily-use box and will delight me for the next few days and weeks. We certainly won’t reach early summer temperatures here at the Baltic Sea any time soon, because I tend to see the fragrance more in the cold season or on cooler days in spring and summer. As far as the occasion is concerned, I would classify Amber K as an all-rounder that can be worn in the office as well as in everyday life, in the evening, to go out or simply to relax and enjoy. Because this new eau de parfum is simply gloriously beautiful! 🤎
