Three new fragrances from Mancera are in our store – Cherry Cherry, Fig Me Up and Cinque Terre – which already sound to me by name like a little foretaste of the coming spring. I know I’m repeating myself, but can someone please turn up the temperature and coax the sun out from behind the curtain of clouds? My need for winter gray and rainy wet is satisfied. I don’t want this anymore.
All the better that the French fragrance house Mancera is offering us three summery creations that contain delicious fruits and – at least one of them – whisk us away to the Italian Mediterranean coast. As we have a tight schedule today and I want to dream away from the current weather anyway, let’s start with the three fragrances Cherry Cherry, Fig Me Up and Cinque Terre.
Cherry Cherry – On the cherry, get set, go!
The cherry has been an absolute “it” fruit for several years now, and Cherry Cherry is part of an impressive collection of delicious compositions that place the red stone fruit at the center of the creation. If you love cherries in perfumes, you should take a look at our collection of fragrances by theme – cherry, because here we have put together many an olfactory work of art based on the fruit or the blossom of the cherry. For Cherry Cherry, Mancera combines the ingredients cherry, bergamot, lemon, iris, jasmine, patchouli, heliotrope, white musk and bourbon vanilla.
A sophisticated composition. While other cherry fragrances often play with playful femininity and particularly sweet gourmand notes, Cherry Cherry is characterized by its intensity and depth. Rich notes create a complex and enveloping fragrance experience for those in search of something extraordinary. The cherry note, reinterpreted as a luxurious cherry liqueur, is addictive from the first spray, while the floral and musky undertones give the fragrance a depth that unfolds beautifully on the skin.
The opening of Cherry Cherry is fruity, sweet and fresh thanks to tangy citrus fruits and sweet, juicy cherry. These are soon joined by the creamy, earthy-woody and subtly leathery nuances of iris and patchouli, resulting in a somewhat darker, calm and very elegant fragrance. The cherry does not play an overly dominant role in the composition, but rather nestles against the soft and cozy notes, which receive spicy floral support from jasmine and heliotrope. Powdery musk, refined with delicate vanilla, provides a certain lightness and brings the creation to a wonderful close.
Cherry Cherry is a gentle and elegant blend of creamy, woody and fruity nuances that combines cherry with iris, patchouli and spices. The eau de parfum is very harmonious in itself. However, if you were hoping for an intense cherry scent, you should opt for one of the many other creations on this theme. Cherry Cherry suggests a good portion of cherry by name. In the test, the red stone fruit is surrounded by various fragrances at eye level. This results in a cherry-creamy and floral-woody composition from which the cherry can be sniffed out, but from which it does not particularly stand out. Anyone looking for a fruity fragrance that is elegant, timeless and modern, that contains warm, cozy and spicy accents and can be worn at any time of year and on any occasion should definitely put this eau de parfum by Mancera on their must-try list. 🍒
Fig Me Up – Scent of happiness
The fragrance house Mancera serves us an enchanting story for Fig Me Up. Perfumer Pierre Montale has a daughter named Amélie. When she was little, her father gave her a fig with the words “If happiness had a scent, this would be it.” It is precisely this scene, this special memory, that the eau de parfum picks up on. It is therefore not surprising that the fig is part of the composition. Other ingredients include fig leaves, rhubarb, violet, eaglewood (oud), sandalwood, plum, geranium, toffee, tonka bean, tobacco and white musk. The fragrance is supposed to be a mood booster, which – as a self-confessed fig fragrance fan – makes me even more curious.
Greenish-fruity fig, woody fig leaves and fresh geranium meet powdery violet, tart rhubarb and the gently smoky nuances of oud, which lends the composition a certain depth. The plum underlines the fruity accents of the creation, into which the caramel-like, creamy sweetness of toffee slowly flows. The finish reveals powdery, crystalline facets that are underlined by the hay-like spiciness of tonka bean.
Fig Me Up is a really beautiful fig fragrance that strikes a wonderful balance between sweet, sour, green and tart. With a medium presence and good longevity, Mancera’s eau de parfum is a transparent, spring-like, summery and elegant fruit composition that absolutely puts me in a good mood. This definitely fulfills the Mood Booster requirement for me. Fig Me Up can be worn for any occasion, but tends to be worn in the warmer months of the year. But if you’re in the mood for figs on cooler days, you can definitely go for this creation too. Really beautiful! 💜
Cinque Terre – Italy’s coast
Our last candidate today is Cinque Terre, which takes us to the Italian Riviera between La Spezia and Genoa. This is the coastal region known as Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Rosemary, lemon, cardamom, cedarwood, pine, fig leaves, ambergris, fleur de sel (sea salt), oakmoss, tonka bean, sandalwood and labdanum (cistus) are the ingredients of this eau de parfum, which is intended to evoke a walk along the Mediterranean coast.
A fresh sea breeze caresses the opening of Cinque Terre thanks to salty-aromatic rosemary and citrusy-coniferous notes that meet tangy hesperides and the greenish-cool nuances of cardamom and fig leaves. The eau de parfum thus evokes a maritime-Mediterranean fragrance that is tart and a little masculine, with gentle barbershop vibes. Light, airy and slightly warmed by the Mediterranean sun over time – or is it more due to the sandalwood? – the creation develops further, but the aquatic-fresh base note remains throughout.
Cinque Terre is the latest Mediterranean fragrance from Mancera. A gentle, well-balanced and clean fragrance with a light to medium presence and equally long-lasting, making it ideal for the office and everyday wear in the warmer months of the year. Perfect for anyone looking for an uncomplicated and catchy creation for the summer that you can’t really go wrong with. 🌊
