Hygge Feeling – 5 fragrances to snuggle up and enjoy

Because it’s so beautifully autumnal, I’ve picked out another five fragrances that spread the perfect hygge feeling. When it’s wet and cold outside, when the rain is pattering against the windows or the first snowflakes are already floating down from the sky, when wafts of mist hang over the ground and the frost covers nature with a white layer of hoarfrost, when you want to snuggle up on the sofa, a cup of steaming tea or hot chocolate in your hand, while the fire crackles in the fireplace, then it’s time for creations like these five that smell so wonderfully hygge.

And because we naturally want to give you the opportunity to test, sniff and get to know the selected compositions, we have put together the matching Hygge Feeling sample set, which you can now buy in our store. If you’ve been with us for a while, you’ll know the drill. The sample set is limited and therefore only available while stocks last. 🍂🫶✨

Ambre Khandjar – Une Nuit Nomade

Ambre Khandjar by Une Nuit Nomade was created by perfumer Jérôme di Marino and is inspired by the soukh of Muttrah in Oman. As the largest soukh in the Sultanate, this market can look back on several hundred years of history and is known for its rich selection of oriental delicacies and treasures. You can also buy a khandjar, a special and traditional dagger. The eau de parfum by Une Nuit Nomade is completely unarmed and instead features the ingredients mandarin, plum, labdanum (cistus), vanilla, iris, ylang-ylang, sandalwood, patchouli and benzoin resin.

Une Nuit Nomade - Ambre Khandjar

Dark, tipsy fruits lead the way into the opening of Ambre Khandjar, which has clear oriental-spicy traits right from the start. The color of the perfume is perfectly reflected olfactorily. In warm red-brown, shimmering between amber and chestnut, the creation evokes a cozy atmosphere. Labdanum, the resin of cistus, brings the smoky sweetness typical of the ingredient to the composition, which is underlined by balsamic, velvety sandalwood and lovely, creamy benzoin resin. Iris and ylang-ylang underline these facets with milky-powdery nuances, rounded off by the finest dark vanilla spice.

Ambre Khandjar is a contemporary and timeless oriental, a spicy and sensual mix that can warm and brighten even the gloomiest of autumn days. Despite the density, complexity and opulence of the fragrance notes used, the eau de parfum is transparent, always well-balanced and never too much. A beautiful, profound unisex fragrance with excellent longevity that is perfect for any occasion.

Sospeso – Panama 1924

With the ingredients bergamot, green notes, mirabelle, orange, damask rose, freesia, jasmine, magnolia, cedarwood, musk, eaglewood (oud), patchouli, sandalwood, vanilla and vetiver, the Italian niche fragrance label Panama 1924 from the Boellis barber family offers us another perfect fragrance companion for that hygge feeling, which is ideal for cold fall and winter days. With its powdery-creamy warmth, its complex and elegant composition and seductive nuances, Sospeso is a classic-looking yet extremely modern fragrance that caresses the soul and beguiles the heart.

Panama 1924 - Sospeso

Lovely and fruity notes open Sospeso. First and foremost, tangy oranges and juicy-sweet mirabelles, which are surrounded by a powdery and exceedingly creamy floral bouquet right from the start. Magnolia and freesia provide subtle fresh nuances, while Damask rose adds a touch of opulence and powdery decadence. Incredibly soft, enveloping and gentle, Sospeso is a creation that you want to let yourself fall into, that seduces and beguiles.

Subtle, dark notes appear early on in the eau de parfum. Oud, patchouli and vetiver form a restrained but perceptible foundation. The sweet spiciness of the vanilla underpins the creamy floral melange with the soft earthy and dark woody undertones and rounds it off skilfully and exceedingly harmoniously.

Tonka Cola – Mancera

Tonka Cola has been extremely popular since its launch, and not without reason. The eau de parfum from Mancera is simply heavenly! The ingredients lemon, nutmeg, cinnamon, cherry, kola nut, patchouli, orange blossom, tonka bean, benzoin resin, labdanum (cistus) and vanilla promise an olfactory delicacy as soon as you read it and – I can say this to anyone who has not yet heard of the fragrance – this is absolutely confirmed. An absolutely perfect candidate for that hygge feeling that makes you want to lie down in it.

Mancera - Tonka Cola

With Tonka Cola, Mancera has created something really great in my eyes. The opening is defined by soft citrus notes that combine with spices and dark red cherries. This fruity, sweet top note is soon underpinned by a fine cola sweetness that blends with the creamy accents of orange blossom and patchouli. A gentle orange note underpins the cola scent, which is gradually joined by spices and resins. In particular, the base is determined by these, as they create a warm, lovely lush and spicy mood.

Tonka Cola is my Christmas fragrance, I just spontaneously decided. I like the eau de parfum by Mancera so, so much. The subtle spiciness paired with the soft citrus notes, plus that wonderful cola sweetness … it warms my heart! I would describe the longevity of Tonka Cola as excellent, the presence as medium. A must for cola fans and for everyone else looking for a really beautiful and harmonious spice fragrance for autumn and winter, this eau de parfum from Mancera should definitely be on your to-try list. 🙂

Vanilla Edesia – Electimuss

Vanilla Edesia from Electimuss presents us with a whole basket of fragrance notes, namely bergamot, mandarin, almond, heliotrope, pink pepper, incense, cinnamon, cumin, coriander, gurjun balsam, Provence rose, ylang-ylang, milk, vanilla, almond, patchouli, nagarmotha, vetiver, ambergris, sandalwood, Virginia cedarwood, leather and white musk. Perfumer Cécile Zarokian is responsible for the creative realization of the extrait de parfum, which is said to be inspired by a Roman goddess of the same name who stands for wealth, abundance and luxury.

Electimuss - Vanilla Edesia

Vanille Edesia opens with citrusy-fresh and dry, spicy notes, which really surprised me. I had expected a fragrance with a certain sweetness and gourmand undertones, but so far this creation is rather tart, smoky and reveals greenish-herbal facets. Incense and vetiver are clearly perceptible, the vanilla is dark, mysterious and profound. The composition is very complex, very dense and exudes incredible elegance and class. Woody, creamy and powdery nuances make the fragrance lighter and airier at the end and create a wonderfully vanilla base.

Vanilla Edesia is an exciting vanilla fragrance of a different kind, with greenish-spicy and smoky-woody tendencies, and is therefore definitely not a typical vanilla creation. Perfect for all those who love very harmonious, finely balanced and calm compositions with the noble spice that do not correspond to the usual, sweet gourmand character of many vanilla fragrances. Really great and absolutely classy!

Mystic Sunset – Eau d’Italie

The Italian fragrance house Eau d’Italie, with its strong connection to the Amalfi Coast and the picturesque town of Positano, enchants us with Mystic Sunset thanks to the ingredients blackcurrant, osmanthus, jasmine, saffron, sugar and cedarwood. The source of inspiration – as I mentioned in my July 2022 post – is a mysterious sunset that has its origins in Roman antiquity. Even though this theme may have a certain summer reference at first glance – sunset, Italian coast, you know – the eau de parfum is a really great fragrance for an autumnal hygge feeling.

Eau d'Italie - Mystic Sunset

The red sun does not set in front of Capri in Mystic Sunset, but in front of Positano. But the coastal town on the Amalfi Coast is not far from the Mediterranean island, so the sunsets are unlikely to differ. Olfactorily, the evening’s natural spectacle is realized with an opening of berry fruit nuances that are accompanied by a powdery creaminess right from the start.

Very velvety and gentle, the Eau de Parfum by Eau d’Italie is thanks to the fine, smooth, almost creamy notes of jasmine and peachy fruity osmanthus. The dark spiciness of the saffron shows up only very subtly, giving the fragrance depth and setting exciting accents, nuanced by the delicious notes of toasted sugar.
