Georges et Moi, Stiptease Flowers and Zazou by Sabé Masson

Welcome to the third and, for the time being, final installment of the French niche fragrance brand Sabé Masson, which spoils us with extraordinary and alcohol-free fragrances. The creations Georges et Moi, Striptease Flowers and Zazou round off this series of reviews, which began with an introduction to the label and the fragrances Né des Roses, Et revenir à Soi and Eu Vent de Vous.

Sabé Masson - Georges et Moi

My articles Sabé Masson – Soft perfumes without alcohol and Et revenir à Soi and Eu Vent de Vous by Sabé Masson – Olfactory meditation give you a good overview of the brand, the special technology used to develop the alcohol-free creations, and of course include a review of the first three eaux de parfum.

As already mentioned in my first article, the fragrances from Sabé Masson are available both as a spray-on perfume and as a solid perfume in stick form for application to the skin, which I personally find really practical. In our store you can find the fragrances from Sabé Masson in three different versions: individually as Eaux de Parfum, individually as Solid Perfume and as a set in the so-called Blossom Box, consisting of Eau de Parfum and Solid Perfume. All creations are labeled as soft perfumes, are alcohol-free and particularly gentle on the skin.

Georges et Moi – Fragrant familiarity

With our first candidate today, Georges et Moi, we are devoting ourselves to interpersonal relationships. Exactly which Georges we are talking about remains an open question. However, it seems to be a very special person, as the relationship between him and the undefined self is very intimate and familiar. Perfumer Heidrun Harder has created a matching fragrance using the ingredients bergamot, lemon leaves, rose, ylang-ylang, ginger, magnolia, vetiver and cedarwood.

Sabé Masson - Georges et Moi

Georges et Moi opens with a delicate citrusy note, accompanied by a dry milkiness that lends the fragrance an extraordinary delicacy and transparency. Bright, lucid and wonderfully cozy, the eau de parfum has a gentle, hesperidic freshness, but also those musky, crystalline notes that are incredibly pure, clean and comforting. The rose adds a hint of floral sweetness, accompanied by the flowing aquatic nuances of magnolia. Clean and creamy facets of cedarwood and vetiver round off the composition beautifully and extremely harmoniously.

As a self-confessed fan of rather minimalist and understated fragrances, Georges et Moi immediately finds a special place in my heart. A finely balanced, calming and incredibly natural eau de parfum that can be worn anywhere, anytime. Gentle and delicate like a caress, yet with a certain freshness that lends the fragrance exciting accents. Fans of clean and bright compositions with a musky, woody, soft floral and subtle citrus character should definitely add this creation to their must-try list!

Striptease Flowers – Olfactory fascination

With Striptease Flowers, Sabé Masson is of course not taking us into the realm of exotic dancing flowers, even if that would certainly be exciting. My imagination is currently running at full speed and I’m not sure which direction this will take. 😄 No, so don’t worry! It remains very civilized, nobody gets naked, except for the composition with the exciting name, for which perfumer Delphine Lebeau-Krowiakj was once again engaged. She combined the ingredients mandarin, bergamot, orange blossom, neroli, heliotrope, patchouli, ambergris, caramel and vanilla for the fragrance.

Sabé Masson - Striptease Flowers

The exotic dance of Striptease Flowers is beautiful from start to finish. Beginning with delicate, citrusy and milky notes of hesperides and its relatives orange blossom and neroli, the eau de parfum is creamy, fresh and skunky. The fragrance continues with a soft, vanilla-floral and light scent. Patchouli underlines the creaminess with delicate woody facets that are warmed by ambergris. I find the caramel very restrained. I wouldn’t describe the creation as really sweet. Perhaps it is more the creamy character of the roasted sugar that is decisive in the composition here. In the base, the fine spiciness of the vanilla picks up speed once again, blending incredibly harmoniously into the creamy-skinny melange and allowing Striptease Flowers to slowly fade away.

Even if the name of the creation expresses a certain opulence in my eyes, the eau de parfum reveals a transparent and rather restrained character throughout and thus remains true to the Sabé Masson line. This fragrance is beautifully composed, very comforting, led by hesperides in a wide range of variations, from fruity to floral. The skinnier component is definitely noticeable in the creation, which for me fits perfectly with the striptease component of the name. After all, exotic dancing is also about a lot of bare skin. Like all other fragrances by Sabé Masson, Striptease Flowers is the perfect companion for every occasion, every occasion and every season. Perfect for fans of minimalist, citrusy skin fragrances.

Zazou – Sabé Masson

Zazou contains an ingredient that already played an important role in the last fragrance: orange blossom. However, while orange blossom played a more subliminal role in Striptease Flowers, Zazou is dedicated to it in its own composition. Here, too, Delphine Lebeau-Kowiakj was creatively at work, using the ingredients citric notes, lemon, grapefruit, neroli, cypress, ginger, orange blossom, cedarwood, musk and ambergris. That sounds like a lot of notes, even though it is supposed to be an orange blossom fragrance. But I am sure that Zazou combines precisely these olfactory ingredients in such a way that the protagonist can show her most beautiful side.

Sabé Masson - Zazou

Fresh, fruity and with springy, summery notes of hesperides and orange blossom, Zazou starts the fragrance and reveals positive vibes right from the start. The creation is airy and transparent, characterized by that typical milky-creamy powderiness that all Sabé Masson fragrances have possessed so far and which is certainly due to the special, alcohol-free formulation. I like that very much. The fragrance notes are actually combined in such a way that they reflect the orange blossom in a very harmonious and authentic way. Bright, light, creamy, a little powdery and with these wonderful, fruity orange notes that simply put you in a good mood. In the finish, the creation becomes warmer thanks to clean cedarwood and the finest ambergris, which meet up with crystalline musk. Splendid!

If you love orange blossom and prefer light, cheerful and summery floral compositions that can be worn on any occasion and have a good presence and longevity despite their transparency, then Zazou is just right for you. A creation that puts you in a good mood from the first sniff and has a hint of Mediterranean flair. A wonderful way to round off this very special collection, with a fragrance to suit every taste.
